Kirsty’s Place offers year-round child care. Our mission is to provide the best standard of child care we possibly can.
Enrollment: All children must be preregistered prior to attending the center. Parents enrolling on a part-time basis will choose set days and be accepted depending on availability.
Forms: Parents must provide the following prior to attendance:
It is the parents’ responsibility to update the enrollment forms as and when information changes.
Hours of Operation: Our program operates from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. A list of scheduled closings follows:
Note: If any of these holidays falls on a Saturday, we will be closed on the preceding Friday. If the same holiday falls on a Sunday, we will be closed on the following Monday. Tuition is paid for holidays.
Tuition and Fees: Your payment is due before service in the week or weeks preceding. There will be no tuition decrease for illness, vacation or center closings due to holidays or inclement weather. The same rule applies to part-time students. A list of current fees will be provided. Payment for drop-in services is due that day.
Late-Payment Fee: Each Monday evening, when all payments have been posted, late payment fees will be assessed. If payment is not received by Wednesday, you will be contacted to discuss the situation. Attendance at the center will be denied until your account is brought up to date. Please do not hesitate to check with the supervisor if you have any confusion or questions regarding your payment status.
Immunization Records: The center is required by law to maintain up-to-date immunization records and health information on all children. A copy or the original immunization card should accompany your enrollment records. Enrollment cannot continue at the center without updated records.
DHS Vouchers: Kirsty’s Place is a participant in the Arkansas Department of Human Services Daycare Voucher Program. Parents who may be eligible for voucher reimbursement should apply to the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Children and Family Services, Day Care Eligibility Unit. If determined eligible by the DHS, they may register their child(ren) with Kirsty’s Place and, provided that there is space available, they will be enrolled in accordance with Kirsty’s Place enrollment procedures. Please note that these families are still responsible for a material and supply fee and any additional fees such as those listed on the fee schedule. Voucher participants may attend no more than 10 hours per day (9.5 hours for foster children) and are allowed no more than seven absences per month.
Arrival and Departure: It is an Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Child Care regulation that children be signed in and out on the daily attendance sheet.
If a person other than you or your spouse will pick up your child at departure time, please notify your child’s teacher. Names of persons permitted to pick up children regularly must be listed on your child’s enrollment form and updated as needed.
“My Day” Records: These are important tools of communication. Please complete the top portion of the infant and toddler forms. Completed forms will be handed to you at the end of the day, informing you about the child's day, including times and descriptions of meals, diaper changes, naps, etc.
Communication: We invite parents to spend time visiting at any time of the day. This also gives caregivers extra time for communicating with parents. If you ever need to discuss anything relating to your child and the program, please contact the supervisor, assistant director or director.
Items to Bring to the Center:
Infants Require:
Toddlers Require:
Preschoolers Require:
Daily Operations: Each infant is cared for according to his or her schedule while a more regular routine provides security for our toddlers and preschoolers. A detailed daily schedule for your child’s age group is posted in each room.
Curriculum: The curriculum consists of Adventures in Learning, by the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.
Allergies: Staff awareness of allergies and other health concerns is imperative for the prevention and treatment of certain types of reactions.
Medications: In order for any medication to be given, parents must give prior written authorization. All prescription medication must be in the original container and have a prescription label with the child’s name and instructions for administering the medication. Over-the-counter or non-prescription medicines must have the child’s name and the date it was brought to the center clearly printed on the original container and must be age-appropriate for the child.
Illness: Please do not send any child to the center who is showing signs of illness. Any child who becomes ill and unable to participate in daily activities shall be separated from other children and supervised, and parents shall be called to pick up the child.
Exceptions to these rules will be made only with a doctor’s written approval.
The following is a list of symptoms to guide you in deciding whether your child should be sent to the center. Please do not send your child if your child exhibits any of the symptoms listed below:
In Case of Injury: The staff will care for simple injuries and you will be notified when you pick up your child at the normal time. In the event of a serious injury, you will be notified at once and, if necessary, the physician you have designated will be called. The emergency medical consent signed on your child’s personal data sheet will assure prompt treatment for any injuries sustained at the center.
If your child requires the attention of medical personnel following an accident that occurred at the center, it is your responsibility to inform the center so that it can be reported to the Licensing Unit within one business day.
Emergency Procedures: Emergency information should be supplied on the Emergency Form. Should your child become ill at the center, we will use this information. If no one can be reached, the child will be taken for treatment as required.
Inclement Weather: We will open the center if it is safe for everyone. On bad-weather days, do not leave home until you have called your center and verified that someone is there. Be sure to update your data so that we can contact you in case of an early closing. Tuition is paid for inclement weather closings.
Outside Play: Preschool groups are scheduled to spend at least one hour per day in the outside play areas. Infants and toddlers shall be taken outside for a period of time every day unless prevented by weather or special medical conditions. Children will go outside (weather permitting), so please dress your child appropriately (just because it is cold doesn’t mean they won’t go outside).
Administrative Policies: All administrative policies and regulations governing child care centers will be carried out by Kirsty’s Place as required by the state of Arkansas.
Children attending day care are subject to be interviewed by Child Care Licensing, Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Special Investigations and law enforcement for investigative purposes and / or for determining compliance with licensing requirements. Child care center directors and teachers are mandated by law to report suspected child abuse or neglect.
Licensing compliance forms are available for review upon request.
Meals: A copy of the menu is available upon request.
All meals will include one-third of the minimum daily requirements from each of the four basic food groups. Appropriate exceptions will be made for children who suffer food allergies. Snacks of nutritional value shall be provided for toddlers and other older children.
Parents of infants should bring all formula, foods, bottles and eating utensils, or enroll in the infant meal program starting at 4 months. Infants are fed on a schedule that the parents help to set daily.
Parents sending lunch should ensure that the food brought is age-appropriate, has good variety, is a good representation of the basic food groups and is of sufficient quantity to satisfy. A refrigerator is available for storing fresh food or dairy products. Caregivers will make every effort to see that the child is well fed, on schedule. Caregivers will also encourage children, when they are ready, to feed themselves.
Miscellaneous: Kirsty’s Place is not responsible for any staff members who work outside the center.
Inspection for Unsafe Children’s Products: All licensed child care centers are required to read the list of unsafe children’s toys, furniture and equipment maintained by the Office of the Attorney General at http://www.childproductsafety.com/, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission at http://www.cpsc.gov/, pursuant to the Children’s Product Safety Act. Parents and guardians may view these products at the above websites. If you wish to review recently recalled products and you do not have access to a computer, please let us know.
Withdrawal: A two-week notice in writing is required when you know your child will no longer be attending our facility. Fees continue when notification is not given.
Center-Enforced Parent / Child Withdrawal: We occasionally have a problem with parents trying to hire Kirsty’s Place employees. Behavior of this kind undermines the relationships and stability of the center. This behavior will result in an automatic dismissal.
Parents are asked not to use inappropriate language or behavior while in the center. This behavior will also result in an automatic dismissal.
